The Carel Playbook is in production. Everything I've learned since walking into Radio Étincelle in Port-de-Paix at sixteen — from the earthquake reporting that ended up in the Newseum, to the studios, podcasts, and brand deals built since. The Carel Playbook ap prepare kounye a. Tout sa mwen aprann depi mwen te mete pye nan Radio Étincelle nan Pòdpè a 16 lane — depi repòtaj tranbleman tè a ki te fini nan Newseum, jiska estidyo, podcast, ak patenarya ak mak yo mwen bati depi lè sa a. Interviews. Podcasting. Livestream. Business. Brand deals.Entèvyou. Podcasting. Livestream. Biznis. Kontra ak mak yo. Compressed. Sharpened. Built for Haitian creators ready to do this for real.Konprese. Apwofondi. Konstwi pou kreyatè Ayisyen ki pare pou yo fè sa a vrèman.
I'm Carel Pedre. I started in radio in 1996 — sixteen years old, in a small Port-de-Paix studio called Radio Étincelle. Three decades later, I host Carel in the Morning live, five days a week, and De Tout Et De Rien, a long-form podcast with hundreds of episodes. I built Chokarella Media into a platform with 3 million followers, the #1 Haitian entertainment podcast in the diaspora, and an embassy contract.Mwen se Carel Pedre. Mwen kòmanse nan radyo an 1996 — 16 lane, nan yon ti radyo lokal nan Pòdpè ki te rele Radio Étincelle. Twa deseni apre, mwen anime Carel in the Morning an dirèk, senk jou pa semèn, ak De Tout Et De Rien, yon podcast long fòmat ak santèn epizòd. Mwen bati Chokarella Media pou'l vin yon platfòm ki gen milyon abone, podcast nimewo 1 nan dyaspora a, ak yon kontra ak anbasad.
In between, I worked as a communications officer for the World Health Organization in Haiti. I covered the 2010 earthquake from Port-au-Prince — those social posts ended up exhibited in the Newseum in Washington, D.C. I built Plezikanaval, hosted Digicel Stars for ten seasons, and stood on stage at the Zénith de Paris, the Accor Arena, Lincoln Center, and the Barclays Center. The State Department brought me to the U.S. through IVLP. The South Korean government brought me to Seoul.Antre tan, mwen te travay kòm ofisye kominikasyon pou Òganizasyon Mondyal Sante a (OMS) nan Ayiti. Mwen te kouvri tranbleman tè 2010 la depi Pòtoprens — pòs sa yo te fini ekspoze nan Newseum lan nan Washington, D.C. Mwen bati Plezikanaval, anime Digicel Stars pandan 10 sezon, epi mwen monte sou sèn nan Zénith de Paris, Accor Arena, Lincoln Center, ak Barclays Center. Depatman Deta Etazini te mennen mwen Ozetazini atravè IVLP. Gouvènman Kore di Sid te mennen mwen Seoul.
And for thirty years, I've watched Haitian creators — brilliant, hungry, built to do this — plateau or burn out because no one showed them how.Epi pandan 30 lane, mwen wè kreyatè Ayisyen — entèlijan, anbisye, ki te fèt pou yo fè sa — kanpe yon kote oswa dekouraje paske pèsòn pa janm montre yo kijan.
2025 was the hardest year of my life. Charges that didn't hold up. Time in detention that reset everything. I came back to the work. The team in Haiti never stopped. The morning show is on. The podcast records this week.2025 te ane ki pi difisil nan lavi mwen. Akizasyon ki pa t'kanpe. Tan nan detansyon ki te rekòmanse tout bagay. Mwen tounen nan travay la pi anfòm ke avan.
